Information and Reservations
First, I should mention that we are usually closed during May, part of June, September, October and part of November. Please see the exact dates on the rates page
We have just written a page outlining the reservation process. But you will still need to contact us. We prefer to communicate directly with our future guests and have opted not to use an automatic system.
For communication we use e-mail, firstname.lastname@example.org . We have recently switched from satellite to using a USB modem through a recently acquired, weak, cell signal which we have amplified.
This also gives us limited phone service. It only works when we are in the office and have the equipment turned on. The voice mail system in CR is not only slow delivering the message but the recording quality is poor. So email is definitely the fastest, most reliable method of communication. If you do not have a computer available, a text message will work better than a voice mail.
Unfortunately, just like everything down here, it is not 100% reliable and every so often the cell system fails. When this happens we get to Puerto Jimenez as soon as possible to retrieve emails but it may be 24-48 hours before we can get there. We apologize for this inconvenience but since we are a very small and not very commercial lodge and prefer responding to your letters personally, we have not hired a company to do our reservation work for us. Please include a phone number in your letters, when possible, since communication modes are not always dependable.
